Marks & Spencers Suede Heels

photo 3 (5)    photo 1 (5)When I went to buy my first pair of proper heels, I figured all heels are the same, so I bought the simplest pair I could find; black suede, pointy-toed, medium-height, M&S Autograph. They made me look taller and slimmer (I’m 1cm shy of 160cm), and I fell in love straightaway. Plus, they were discounted from 699 HKD to 249 HKD, so why the heck not?
I WAS WRONG. In terms of comfort, I’d probably give it a 4 out of 5 stars for the first 20 minutes or so. There is padding on the sides, and padding in the heel area. It also says that they’ve got Insolia technology and engineering, HOWEVER, these pointy shoes make my feet ache in a matter of minutes. I don’t know if it’s just me or pointy heels in general, but the balls of my feet hurt so badly afterwards.

These are gorgeous though, and I don’t really get to buy a new pair of shoes that often so I wear these whenever I have super formal events. They are timeless but also sophisticated and sleek, and don’t really require much maintenance unless you need to patch up at the cobbler’s. If you’re looking for feminine but strong and sexy, then this would go with your typical LBD or even spruce up a pair of old jeans.

So in conclusion, yes, these heels are beautiful, but to be very honest with you I’d trade them for a pair of comfy flats anytime, or save them for special (and very short) occasions.

Fit is always important. Sometime the designer is also a factor in the fit. I say find another designer and see how they feel. I am sure you will be able to discover a wonderful fitting set of heels. 😉
