vintage Cathay Pacific maintenance jacket

Grandma had a surprise in her bag this Monday: a vintage Cathay Pacific maintenance jacket from my dad’s old job as a maintenance man (‘old’ as in many decades ago)!
She made it clear she wasn’t planning on giving it to anybody for the sake of fashion, which is a bit of a shame. She did let me fool around in it, though.

The jacket was is super windproof and extremely oversized, as seems to be the current trend at your local Topshop. Nevertheless, its practicality trumps appearance; there’s some faded coral plastic buttons underneath the collar for you to hook on the hood if needed. The colour scheme reminded me slightly of a fisherman’s jacket. Unfortunately, as of now it’s staying with my grandma. Permanently.

Above: wearing the jacket vs. the original outfit with a denim jacket. Which looks the least kooky?
